We biked right out of camp Day 1. We took a super nice hill until we hit Mail Road. It was the hardest part of the trip. No one felt like they could do it, but we made it to Day 2, the best day of the entire trip. We were riding on rolling hills, and it was a great feeling. Day 3 was probably the worst day we had. It was such a long day, and there were so many hills to bike up. By Day 4, we were all super sore when we woke up, but I knew I had to complete the trek. We pushed ourselves and rode on. Then came Lebanon Road, and there was TY…

“Lebanon Road is usually the most grueling hill of the trip. It’s three miles uphill, gravelly, dirty. As soon as we turned on the road, the rain started pouring down! It gave everyone this new energy and excitement. Everyone felt strong, like they could push on and tackle the hill with pride. At the end, everyone was caked with mud but wore huge smiles on their faces. When we came to the end of the road, we all started belting ‘Singing in the Rain.’ It was such an amazing, powerful moment for us.” – Michelle Freed, Trip Leader
