TY @ YOUR TABLES
FRIDAYS IN WINTER 2022/2023
YOUR HOMES (OR WHEREVER YOU CHOOSE!)
Imagine if you had an opportunity to invite your TY besties to your own Shabbat table, while others around the world did the same?
This winter, we celebrated Shabbat, TY-Style!
Alums across the globe signed up to host a Shabbat dinner. May hosted private events, where they invited their own TY friends and others opened their homes to the larger TY community and allowed other TYniks nearby to find and RSVP to spend a special camp-inspired Shabbat together.
We curated a very special Shabbat dinner kit – a ‘Shabbox’! – that we sent to registered Shabbat dinner hosts that included a few fun elements to help us all share a common TY Shabbat experience – even though we’re not in Barryville.
Items found in the Shabbox included:
– A special Shabbat kit with the items you need, including candles, kiddush cup, challah cover, and more bonus camp-inspired goodies!
– Our 75th-anniversary special-edition Shabbat Shiron including Shabbat Shira favorites through the generations
There is nothing like Shabbat at Tel Yehudah. Thank you to the over 90 homes that helped us bring camp Shabbat and all of its magic to YOUR dinner tables this winter!
If you hosted or attended a TY @ Your Tables Shabbat and happened to take any great photos/videos, please share them with us here: https://bit.ly/ShabbatPics
TY TIKKUN PROJECT
JANUARY (MLK WEEKEND) 2023
EVERYWHERE
Tikkun olam (repairing the world) has always been a core tenet of who we are as Judaeans. We were happy to live our camp values and join in service together with Repair the World for MLK Weekend & Black History Month.
Beginning on MLK Weekend, the entire TY community – teens, alums, families, and friends – were invited to serve alongside one another by choosing an in-person local project in Brooklyn, Atlanta, or Miami or participating in a virtual service project from home. You can still take action and make a difference!
