Maccabia Mayhem

Camp Tel Yehudah has already presented me with a variety of experiences over a mere week and a half. I’ve met incredible people that I can relate to more than some friends back home that I’ve known for years. The counselors manage to be steady leaders while still being a source of entertainment. Each activity provides an opportunity to bond with fellow campers, whether the actual activity is your cup of tea or not.

Although every day is a fun time, my personal favorite has been Maccabia, also known as Color War. This last Thursday, a whirlwind of experience was thrown at me, and it was more enjoyable than I could have ever imagined. The day rushes by with competitions, cheers, and pure craziness every minute. It is simply a time when every single person has the time of their life, all judgments put aside. By the end of the day, your bones are aching, faces are sweating, and your voice is just gone. All the campers gather to watch the winner unveiled. I can happilyreport that being victorious is one of the best feelings in the world. Go Green Witches!
